Award-winning survivor-written play
TIGERS to perform at National Drama Festival Association
Award-winning play TIGERS, written by survivor Brian Hutchinson, will be performed at the National Drama Festival Association on Saturday at 2:00pm at the Artrix Theatre, Bromsgrove.
TIGERS tells the story of Robert, a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, who during a lucid dream meets his younger self and is forced to confront the trauma, shame and guilt he has carried for decades. Above all else, the play is a message of hope and compassion for survivors of sexual abuse.
Following a complete rewrite and reworking of the production, TIGERS has continued to receive recognition. The production has now won two theatre festivals and received awards for:
- Best Production
- Best Director
- Best Actor(s)
This weekend, TIGERS will compete against 13 other teams from across Europe, Ireland and Scotland at the National Drama Festival Association.
In Brian’s own words:
“TIGERS is a very powerful and important message of hope for survivors of abuse that needs to be heard.”
If you are interested in attending the performance at the Artrix Theatre or meeting Brian afterwards, he has invited people to get in touch with him at [email protected].
We would like to congratulate Brian and everyone involved in TIGERS on their continued success and wish them every success at the National Drama Festival Association.
