Lime Culture

Abby Foord and Becky York provided some updates on ongoing projects that may be of interest, some of which they are seeking input on:

1. Clinical Supervision Project:

  • Clinical supervision can look very different depending on the role – for example, admin staff working in sexual violence, triage workers, ISVAs, nurses, and other roles all have different needs.

  • Lime Culture is developing a better understanding of what effective clinical supervision looks like across these contexts.

  • Abby has been running focus groups and 1:1 interviews to gather input, and there is also a questionnaire on “what makes supervision great for you.” If you’d like to contribute to either, please email [email protected].

2. Data Set & Safety and Support Assessment:

  • Lime Culture is developing a standardised data set for ISVA services, which will link to the upcoming refresh of their Safety and Support Assessment.

  • They want to ensure any developments made by services are captured in the refresh, reflecting the range of services and diverse client groups we all work with.

  • In the next month or so, individuals will be invited to join an expert reference group to consult on these developments. I will share the invite and any requirements for joining the group when available.

If you’re interested in either of these projects, please consider contributing – it’s a great opportunity to shape the development of tools and training that affect our sector.

Survivor Activists Network

MSP is developing a Male-Centred Survivor Activist Network to provide a structured and formalised way for male survivor leaders and activists to contribute to the sector. Participation can be therapeutic for the activist and also benefits services by allowing them to learn directly from lived experience.

Earlier this year, when Mankind UK took on hosting MSP, members of the partnership were consulted about priorities for the partnership. A Survivor Activists Network emerged as a clear priority.

Next steps:

  • An initial planning meeting is taking place next week with Tanaka Mhishi, Trustee at Survivors UK, a prominent activist who supports survivors in media and activism. I will work with Tanaka to identify a core group to plan the larger network.
  • Invitations and information for MSP members on how to get involved will be shared soon.

Goal:

  • To establish an consultancy network of male survivor activists that organisations can reach out to for support, guidance, resources, and expertise.
